ProFilePrivacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how DL Technologies ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the ProFile mobile application for iPhone and iPad (the "App"). ProFile helps you build a single professional profile and generate documents from it — including your CV/resume, cover letter, business card, email signature, digital signature, and short bio. Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your information and how we will treat it.

#1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

To save your profile and sync it across your devices, you sign in with Google Sign-In, an email address and password, or as a guest (via Firebase Authentication). We receive your name, email address, and account identifier from the sign-in method you choose. A guest account has no email and exists only on that device.

1.2 Profile Information You Provide

ProFile is built around the professional information you enter yourself, which is used to generate your documents and is securely synced to our servers (Google Firebase: Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) so it stays available if you sign in on another device. This may include:

• Personal & Contact Details: full name, job title, email, phone number, address, and links such as LinkedIn or a portfolio website
• Career Content: professional summary, work experience, education, skills, certifications, awards, and references
• Profile Photo, Signature and Logo: images you choose to add to your profile, CV, or business card, or a signature you draw or type
• Language Preference: your selected app language, including per-language versions of your profile content

You control this data at all times and can edit or delete it from within the App.

1.3 Other Documents (Stored Locally Only)

The App lets you attach supporting files — such as certificates, ID copies, or portfolio samples — to keep everything in one place. These files, and the names you give them, are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. If you delete the App or switch devices, these files are not backed up by us and will not be available on the new device.

1.4 Scan to Fill (Photo, PDF or Word File)

To prefill your profile from an existing CV, you can take a photo of a document or choose an image, a PDF, or a Word (.docx) file. Text is read from PDF and Word files on your device where possible; photos, scanned pages, or the extracted text are then sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to read out the details (see Section 3). We do not keep the document: only the fields you review and choose to use become part of your profile.

1.5 Camera, Photos and Notifications

The App asks for access to your camera (to take a profile photo or scan a document) and your photo library (to pick a photo, logo, or document, or — add-only — to save exported business card images) only when you use those features. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings. If you turn on daily or weekly reminders, they are local notifications scheduled on your device; they do not involve our servers.

1.6 Face ID / Touch ID App Lock (Optional)

If you enable the optional app lock, authentication is handled entirely by iOS. We never receive, see, or store your biometric data.

1.7 Home Screen Widget

The optional widget shows how complete your profile is. It reads a small summary stored on your device and shared between the App and the widget; nothing is sent to us for this.

1.8 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our App, we and our third-party service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including:

• Device Information: device type, operating system version, and app instance identifiers (the App does not read your device's advertising identifier)
• Usage Data: which features you use (e.g., which document types you export), session duration, and app interactions (Google Analytics for Firebase, configured without advertising-identifier support)
• Diagnostics: crash logs and performance data (Firebase Crashlytics)
• Advertising Data: information about ads viewed or interacted with, for users who have not purchased Premium
• Technical Data: IP address and general location data (country/city level)

#2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate and export your CV, cover letter, business card, email signature, signed documents, and bio
• Sync your profile so it's available when you sign in on a new or different device
• Provide optional AI-powered features, such as scanning a CV, tailoring your profile to a job, proofreading, rewriting text, or translating your profile into another language
• Show ads and process the optional Premium subscription
• Analyze usage patterns and fix bugs or crashes
• Respond to your support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

#3. AI-Powered Features

ProFile offers optional AI features: Scan to Fill, Tailor to Job Description, AI proofreading, rewriting your text, AI-assisted cover letters, and translating your profile into another language. When you use one, the relevant content is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the result. Some of these features (such as tailoring, proofreading and rewriting) are included with Premium, or you can unlock one use at a time by watching a rewarded ad.

3.1 What is sent

• Tailor to Job Description, proofreading, and rewriting: the text you are working on and the career details needed for the task — such as job titles, summary, skills, role and degree descriptions and, for some of these features, company and institution names — plus the job description you paste.
• Translate your profile: your job title, summary, bio, skills, certifications, awards, role and degree descriptions, reference positions, and language names.
• Scan to Fill: the photo, scanned pages, or the text of the file you chose, which may include your name and contact details because those appear on a CV.

For tailoring, proofreading, rewriting and translating, we do not send your name, email address, phone number, address, or photos. We do not use your content to train AI models, and the App obtains the access credential for these requests from Google Firebase Remote Config; no personal data is sent to Firebase for that purpose. OpenAI processes this data under its own privacy policy and API terms.

#4. Advertising

Unless you have purchased Premium, ProFile shows a banner ad at the bottom of the screen and, if you choose, a rewarded ad that you can watch to unlock one AI use. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may use SDKs and similar technologies to collect device and usage information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud.

No tracking permission. ProFile does not ask for the iOS App Tracking Transparency permission and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. Because of this, the App cannot read your device's advertising identifier. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and some other regions), we show Google's consent form before requesting ads, and no ads are requested until it has been answered.

Your choices: you can use the App without watching rewarded ads, and purchasing Premium removes the banner ad. You can also limit ad personalization at the operating-system level in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

#5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers an optional ProFile Premium auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly), processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Premium removes the banner ad and unlocks the AI tools without watching ads. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. We do not collect or store your payment card details — Apple handles the transaction and shares only your subscription status with us so we can unlock the features on your device.

#6. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information with:

• Google Firebase: for account sign-in, to securely sync and store your profile data and images, and for analytics and crash reporting
• OpenAI: to process the optional AI features described in Section 3
• Google AdMob: to deliver ads, unless you've purchased Premium
• Apple: to process Premium subscriptions through the App Store
• Legal Requirements: when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property
• Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

#7. Sharing Documents by Email

When you export a document, the App creates a PDF on your device and offers it through the iOS share sheet, or opens the Mail composer with the documents attached — sent directly from your own email account. We do not see or store the content or recipients of these emails. A list of your recent exports (file names and dates) is kept on your device for your Export History.

#8. Data Retention

We retain your profile data for as long as your account exists, so your documents remain available across your devices. If you delete your account or request deletion, we delete your synced profile data from our servers. Locally stored Other Documents and your export history are removed when you delete them in the App or delete the App. Usage and diagnostic data are typically retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required by law.

8.1 Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the App via Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us. #9. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures — including encrypted transmission and Firebase's access controls — to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

#10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than Mozambique, including where our service providers (such as Google Firebase and OpenAI) operate infrastructure. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

#11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

• The right to access the information we hold about you
• The right to request correction of inaccurate information
• The right to request deletion of your account and profile data
• The right to object to or restrict certain processing
• The right to withdraw consent for advertising where consent is required

#12. Age Verification and Restriction

ProFile is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will take immediate steps to terminate their access and delete any information collected. If you believe someone under 13 is using the App, please contact us immediately.

#13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
